Petrol heads generally arent after more MPG but a 1.6 litre engine should be very efficient anyway. If i can manage 44 in my ST you can manage 50 in the zs. Good luck with the performance mods! I hope it was worth it! would be interesting to see the difference.

yeah friends neil
it is costing me 275 and should increase it by 13-15bhp.
a focus 1.6 used to get 250-300 out of a full tank and now gets 390 miles out of full tank after the re-mapping.
i have never got 50mgp out of the S haha i wish i could though.
i will update tomorrow on if it does anything to the S or not (hopefully it does) haha.

Remapping will give you more mpg as they programme the ecu to run leaner which gives more power and more mpg.

30 mpg for a 1.6? There are four other gears for you to enjoy though I defy Jon to get 50 mpg out of any ZS without a sail attached to it.
I genuinely can't figure this out- surely configuring the car to run leaner would provide more MPG- but how would burning less fuel lead to an increase in power?

Depends how rich the car is in the first place but if it is under the 14/1 AFR then leaning it to get nearer to that will give more power and mpg.I've been through all this with my bike on a dyno.

The only downside is the more you lean it,the hotter it runs which can damage the engine if you take it too far.

yeah i didn't take it to far only enough that the car could handle.. i think it has increased it by about 14bhp but will have to find a dnyo to check how much it has increased though. i am donig a test when my petrol runs out. going to fill it to the top and see how much i can get out of it. used to get about 250-300 from full tank.
